1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the ResellRent website, mobile application and related services (together, the "Platform"). It explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices and rights you have. It is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

By creating an account, posting a listing or otherwise using the Platform, you consent to the processing of your personal data as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

• Account details: your name, mobile number and, if you provide it, your email address and profile photo.
• Google sign-in details: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from your Google account.
• Address and location: the address or location you add to your profile or to a listing.
• Listing details: equipment name, category, brand, specifications, price, sale or rental terms, and the photos, videos and documents you upload.
• Messages: chats you exchange with other users on the Platform, including any images, videos or PDF files you share.
• Support requests: your name, phone number and message when you contact us through the Platform.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visits.
• Location data: your approximate or precise location, when you allow it in your browser or device, to show equipment near you.
• Activity on the Platform: searches you make, listings you view or save, and the listings you post.
• Cookies and local storage: small files stored on your device to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (see "Cookies and Local Storage" below).

Information from other sources

To help buyers find equipment, we may display equipment listings that were publicly available on other websites, along with the seller details published with them. See "Listings Sourced From Other Websites" below.

We do not collect or store your debit card, credit card, UPI or bank account details. ResellRent does not process payments between buyers, sellers, owners and renters.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and verify your mobile number using a one-time password (OTP).
• To publish, review and moderate your listings, and to show listings to buyers and renters.
• To show equipment near you and to make search results relevant to you.
• To let buyers, sellers, owners and renters contact each other through chat or phone.
• To respond to your questions, complaints and support requests.
• To send you service messages, such as OTPs, listing updates and new chat messages.
• To send you updates and offers about ResellRent, which you can opt out of at any time.
• To detect, investigate and prevent fraud, spam, abuse and illegal activity.
• To analyse usage, fix problems and improve the Platform.
• To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

4. What Other Users Can See

ResellRent is a marketplace, so some of your information is visible to other people by design. When you post a listing, the following is shown publicly on that listing:

• Your name and profile photo.
• Your mobile number, so that interested buyers or renters can call you.
• The listing location (such as the city, state and the area shown on the map).
• All listing details, photos, videos and documents you upload.

Messages you send in chat are visible to the person you are chatting with. Please think carefully before sharing personal or financial information with other users. We are not responsible for how other users use information you choose to share with them.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only in the following cases:

• Service providers that help us run the Platform, under contracts that require them to protect your data. These include cloud hosting and file storage (such as Amazon Web Services), SMS and OTP delivery (such as MSG91), maps and location services (Google Maps and Google Places) and sign-in services (Google Sign-In).
• Other users, as described in "What Other Users Can See".
• Government authorities, courts or law enforcement agencies, when required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of ResellRent, our users or the public.
• A buyer or successor, if ResellRent is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Some of our service providers may store or process data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data is protected as required by Indian law.

6. Listings Sourced From Other Websites

Some listings on ResellRent may be compiled from equipment listings that were publicly available on other websites. These listings may include the seller name, contact number and location published with the original listing. We do not guarantee that such information is accurate or current.

If you are the owner of a listing or the person whose details appear on it, you can ask us to correct, take over or remove that listing by writing to resellrent@gmail.com. We will act on valid requests promptly.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage, to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as your location), keep the Platform secure and understand how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features, such as staying signed in, may stop working.

8. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform. When you delete your account or a listing, we delete or anonymise the related personal data within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep it longer to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms & Conditions or meet legal, tax or regulatory obligations. OTPs are kept only for the short time needed to verify you.

9. How We Protect Your Data

We use reasonable security practices to protect your data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls that limit who can see personal data, and secure cloud infrastructure. However, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your OTPs private and never share them with anyone, including people claiming to be from ResellRent.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
• Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You can edit most details yourself from your profile.
• Request erasure of your personal data and deletion of your account.
• Withdraw your consent at any time. This will not affect processing done before you withdrew it, but we may no longer be able to provide some or all of the Platform to you.
• Opt out of promotional messages.
• Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
• Raise a grievance with us and, if you are not satisfied with our response, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at resellrent@gmail.com from the email address or mention the mobile number linked to your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you on the Platform or by SMS or email. Continuing to use the Platform after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

13. Grievance Officer

If you have any complaint or concern about how your personal data is handled, or about any content on the Platform, please contact our Grievance Officer at resellrent@gmail.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days of receiving it.
